Send: Cover letter and CV with three references
The Oh lab is seeking motivated computational and/or experimental scientists interested in studying the human microbiome and its impact on health. We seek to use diverse approaches in genomics, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, molecular biology, and microbiology. Our goals are to understand the complexity of our body’s microbial communities and use this information to manipulate the microbiome for therapeutic ends.

Said postdoctoral fellow can fit into any one of the major endeavors of the lab:
- Developing computational methods for analysis of large-scale metagenomic data, in particular, uncharacterized space.
- Developing methods to interrogate the microbiome with single-cell technology
- Developing CRISPR/Cas-based and synthetic biology-based tools for microbiome engineering
- Investigating microbial interactions with high content screening, organoid technology, and other models
Required Skills: Candidates should have a PhD and/or MD with an exceptional record of research accomplishments and the enthusiasm to conduct research in a highly collaborative and inter-disciplinary environment.

- Lab organization and maintenance, including management of biosafety, chemical safety, animal, and humans subject protocols, ordering and organization of lab supplies and materials;
- Preparation of sequencing libraries, including microbiome, microbial/human/mouse RNA-seq, single cell, spatial transcriptomics; protocol development. Attention to detail, reproducibility, and prevention of contamination is critical;
- Assisting with supervision and training of other technicians and students, coordinate lab activities, as well as implement and oversee departmental policies regarding environmental and biosafety regulations.
Required Skills:
Recommended skills and experiences include human tissue culture, organoid culture, microbiology, molecular biology, sequencing library preparation, clinical lab testing and sample management, sterile technique, equipment calibration, biohazard safety, preparation of chemical solutions, and supply management.
Research Assistant: Knowledge of biological sciences as would normally be acquired through Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related subject with at least 1 year of directly related experience. Other means of acquiring that knowledge and experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Research Associate: Knowledge of biological sciences as would normally be acquired through Master’s degree or Ph.D. in biological sciences or related subject with at least 5 years of directly related experience. Other means of acquiring that knowledge and experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
